Why is RoomsHere.com different from other accommodation websites?

RoomsHere.com is not another booking system, but an information management system which integrates facilities for Visitor Information Centres, Accommodation Businesses and Booking/Travel agents into one website, whilst displaying accommodation vacancies direct to the consumer on a twelve month calendar.  Whilst we provide the option to direct all enquiries to Accommodation Businesses so that they can provide a personal service to consumers, we encourage all Accommodation Businesses to link to an online booking system of their choice to provide that convenience to consumers.

One of the main benefits of RoomsHere.com is that Accommodation Businesses do not pay commissions on bookings like they do for most online booking systems.

Therefore, some Accommodation Businesses are happy to pass on savings to consumers and one of the features of RoomsHere.com is that we encourage the development of SmartStay Packages (discounted multiple night packages) so that consumers can benefit even further by purchasing value added multiple night stays.


How do I book on RoomsHere.com?

RoomsHere.com provides you with all contact details of each Accommodation Business so that you can book direct for the best deals via telephone or email.  If you see a   button next to an advertised deal, clicking on this will take you to the booking system that has been chosen by that property owner, and you will be able to book this product online if you wish.

How do I list our MAJOR EVENT so that delegates can find available accommodation?

Contact RoomsHere.com and arrange for a MAJOR EVENT LISTING to be placed on your town listing.

We will offer all Accommodation Businesses in and around your town, a FREE listing for the 60 days leading up to and including your conference/event, so that they have the opportunity to display their accommodation vacancies for the convenience of your delegates/attendees.

Why are some accommodation listings and Visitor Information Centre listings light grey in colour and inactive?

RoomsHere.com has endeavoured to list every accommodation property and Visitor Information Centre across Australia so that you can see the vibrancy of tourism in every Town, City, Suburb and Area.

The grey listings have been pre-entered as FREE listings, but will remain inactive until Accommodation Businesses and Visitor Information Centres sign on to RoomsHere.com to activate the listings.  Once activated, listings will display a range of information to help you find vacant accommodation, will link to websites, generate emails and some businesses will provide online booking systems so that you can complete an immediate booking.

Why are some accommodation properties  or Visitor Information Centres not listed on RoomsHere.com?

RoomsHere has undertaken extensive research in order to list every accommodation property and Visitor Information Centre across Australia.  If we have missed listing a property or Visitor Information Centre, we would appreciate you using the Word Document below to notify us, so that changes can be made immediately.

Why can't I bring up a full list of towns to make my selection?

Because RoomsHere.com aims to list all accommodation across Australia by Town, City, Suburb and Area each search scans more than 12,000 geographic locations, so it would be impossible for you to search through such a long list to find the Town, City, Suburb of your choice.

Special search functions have been developed by RoomsHere.com that select locations by State and Region, and you will find that you are able to retrieve a full list of accommodation for any State or Region if you wish.

How do I find accommodation for a certain town?

There are several ways to find accommodation:

  1. If you know the property name you require, enter it in the Property Name box and then click Search
  2. Type the town name in the Location box which brings up a list of towns, click on the one you wish to select, wait until its details appear in the State, Region, City/Town box, then click Search
  3. Click on the to open up the State, Region, City/Town, Suburb boxes, click on the and select the State, Region, City/Town or Suburb. Click Search

How do I find a town on the map?

Click on Australia, and scroll from front to back to zoom into your chosen location. Click and drag the map to locate your required location in the viewing area.

How can I view accommodation for my holiday dates?

  1. Click on the to select any date within 12 months from today's date, select the Town, City, Suburb or Area where you would like to stay then click Search
  2. Or, select your preferred accommodation, then select your dates be either scrolling through 2 weeks at a time or by the method as above.

What do I do if my search result returns lots of accommodation listings?

You can narrow your searches by:

  1. Selecting your preferred Property Type
  2. Click on Use more search criteria which provides you with a list of facilities and/or specialities to refine your search further.

REMEMBER If you select lots of Facilities or Specialities RoomsHere.com will only return properties that provide all of  those selected.

What do I do if my search result returns no accommodation listings?

Check your search criteria as RoomsHere.com will look for properties that have been listed with all the Search Criteria you have selected – you may have ticked too many boxes therefore narrowing your search down too much.

My search results have returned lots of listings all showing different information. What does this mean?

Accommodation Businesses have several ways in which they can display their accommodation:

  • Days displaying an A indicate that accommodation is available on this day - you need to contact this business direct to negotiate a price and conditions
  • Dates displaying a B indicate that accommodation is totally booked on these days
  • A price displayed indicates that accommodation is available at this price on this day and you need to contact the business direct to confirm the conditions for this accommodation
  • Days displaying “ - ” means that the accommodation business would like you to contact them in regard to availability, price and conditions
  • Unsubscribed accommodation businesses will have an inactive listing
  • Where appears, you can book this product online via the booking system that has been nominated by the Accommodation Business
